Overview

Convert Starfinder 2nd Edition RPG rules to metric.

Installation

  1. Go to the Chrome webstore.
  2. On the extension listing page, select Add to Chrome.

Usage

The extension runs automatically on the Archive of Nethys website. The extension will detect imperial units on the page and add metric equivalents in a tooltip.

If the imperial value is detected, it is highlighted as blue text. You can then hover over the conversion to see the converted value as a tooltip.

Conversions

Feet and yards are converted both to metres and "units" - where units are equivalent to squares on a battle mat. This is based on the convention of 5 feet = 1 square. For example, 30 feet is converted to 6U [9.1 M]. You can use whichever value is most useful in each situation.

Metres are shown with an accuracy of 1 decimal place. All other units are rounded to the nearest whole number.

Settings

To access the settings panel, complete the followig steps:

  1. On the Chrome browser toolbar, select Extensions (jigsaw piece icon).
  2. In the list of extensions that appears, select Metric converter for Starfinder 2e.

The basic settings control which units are converted. To leave a unit unchanged, clear the relevant check box.

Changes are not saved until you select Save changes.

Advanced settings

To access the advanced settings, open the settings panel, and then select Advanced settings.

Styling

Enter CSS that you want to apply to detected values.

Use metric as tooltip

By default, the original units remain on the page and the decimal conversions are added as tooltips. If you clear this checkbox, the values will be reversed: with the converted units on the page and the original units as tooltips.

Formatting

By default, metres use the period fractional separator. To use a comma as the fractional separator, select the Comma fractional separator check box.
